Hypo-EP elements in rings

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce and investigate a natural extension of the notion of hypo-EP elements previously defined in the framework of $C^*$-algebras to the broader context of rings with involution. We provide several equivalent characterizations, factorization properties, and study the behavior of these elements under addition and multiplication. Examples and counterexamples are also given to illustrate the scope of the theory.
